In my morning routine of sleeping in and then flipping on Get Up on ESPN the debate of the Ravens going undefeated and the Jags going defeated was raging. We know that picking the Super Bowl winner is extremely hard and following the Vegas lines are not always the way to go. This year they are picking the Chiefs (21%), Ravens (17%), Saints (13%), 49ers (12%), and Cowboys (5%). Let’s not get ahead of ourselves was my first thought, let’s focus on division winners.
AFC East – Buffalo Bills – The Bills had a good season last year and have the best roster in that division. It’s weird to not say Patriots here but losing the GOAT for Stidham is not going to cut it. I really like Sam Darnold but I do not think the Jets have enough to win this yet. The Dolphins are not going from the basement to the penthouse in one year either no matter how many Tua jerseys they sell.
NFC East – Dallas Cowboys – I pick them with or without Dak Prescott. That’s right our red little bb gun can lead this team to the division championship. The Eagles were a close second but the ‘Boys have too many weapons on both offense and defense. Zeke should have a monster year again and the Cowboys patched up the offensive line holes that they had and will be great again. Jerry wants one bad and has committed to this lineup.
AFC North – Baltimore Ravens – Some people have these guys as going undefeated and while I do not agree I do think they are going to be really good. Losing Yanda is going to hurt but that running game with the now three-headed monster (Dobbins/Ingram/Jackson) is scary good. They still struggle at WR and LB but Harbaugh runs this well-oiled machine. I think this is going to be a turbulent year for the Steelers and the Browns are phonies. I would love to say that the Bengals will compete for this spot but the eye on the prize of 7 wins is what we need to keep. Don’t worry 2021 we come at them in a big way.
Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals Jersey
NFC North – Minnesota Vikings – Lizzo made the call on this one and it is going to be Zimmer’s team. I think that Aaron Rodgers is going to have a great year but he does not have a great team of offensive weapons to put up points. I don’t think Cousins is an elite QB but he has been good enough to win big games and his swag is immeasurable. I just see the Vikings getting it done in this division this year despite losing all of their corners to the Bengals in the offseason.
AFC South – Tennessee Titans – This front office did everything they should have done in the off-season, don’t mess up their secret recipe. Tannehill and Henry are going to be dangerous again and I was surprised to not see them get more love for Super Bowl contenders. Another year in the starting offense is going to really help the QB position. If the leadership down in Texas wasn’t so bad I would have put the Texans here but BoB has created a swell-storm down there which could lead to Watson disappearing next season.
NFC South – New Orleans Saints – This is the last hoorah for Drew Brees and he is going to make it count. A lot of people want to get on the TB12 bandwagon as the pick but the stability of the Saints is what I am going with. I certainly think the Bucs will be in the mix but the Saints chemistry is going to be too good to let them edge out that division. No faith in the Falcons or Panthers either, although I am high on Bridgewater.
AFC West – Kansas City Chiefs – Barring injury to Mahomes I do not see how the Broncos surpass them in the West. Lock looks to be the real deal and this will be a great season to see his progression but the Chiefs certainly have enough gas to make it all of the way to the Super Bowl again. The Raiders new stadium is awesome, so they have that going for them. The Chargers have the third best QB in the draft sitting on the bench so let’s celebrate that.
NFC West – Seattle Seahawks – The popular pick here is the Niners I get it but Russell Wilson is just a better QB than Jimmy G. I think Pete and crew find a way to get tough wins this season and take the division. Watch out for the Cardinals who are not far off from competing. If they are promised post-game parties at the coach’s playboy bad then maybe that gets them a few extra dubs. Rams lost good players in the offseason and that roster got worse not better.
