My List of Questions for Billy Price

If you haven’t caught the Podcast interview of Billy Price you should take the time and have a listen. Price seems like a really good guy who seems to know that he has underperformed as a first round pick. One of the things I liked hearing most was the Price knew that he needs to show up to camp healthy. This is clearly a make-or-break year for Price which could determine the rest of his career in this league.

Hearing that he is excited about Xavier Su’a-Filo is like rooting for someone else to get a job promotion over you. Su’a-Filo came to this team to start and play RG which seems to be the only position that Price is qualified for at this point. He kept talking about being a swing player being able to play all three positions of the interior line but he never played center well and I don’t recall him getting any snaps at LG.

I don’t do podcasts or have player access like the mainstream blogs/companies that cover these guys. If I did I have a list of questions that I would ask Billy Price. I know you have to be grateful to these guys for appearing but sometimes asking the tough questions are lost in reporting these days because you want everyone to like you. Here is my list:

  • Your transition to the NFL from college was tough on you. What was it coming from a big-time school like Ohio State to playing center for the Bengals that surprised you the most? Why didn’t it translate quickly for you?
  • The offensive line got better in the tail-end of the season. What was the biggest change in the position meetings that led to this? How is this going to be carried over this year with potentially three new starters on this OL?
  • How good is Jonah Williams? Is he Andrew Whitworth good or Cordy Glenn good?
  • The fans give a lot of flack to Bobby Hart. What is it about Bobby that we don’t see as non-NFL players on that offensive line? Explain to me what we are missing because the stats are not good.
  • What is the biggest difference between the Marvin era and the Taylor era?
  • It sounds like the blocking scheme is more complex. You have an elite running back in the backfield, why has this not translated into big yards and consistent runs?
  • Tell us anything you know about Joe Burrow. We are thirsty for him and as fans hand the next decade of hope on this kid.

Sincerely, BengalsGM.com
