3.5 Year AFC North Playoff Win Drought Bodes Well For Joe Burrow

The AFC North is loaded with talent heading into 2020. The Ravens clearly lead the pack with an explosive offense led by MVP Lamar Jackson and a defense that has improved in the offseason. The Browns have made huge offseason investments by surrounding Baker Mayfield with playmakers and boasts one of the leagues best defensive lines. The Steelers get their HOF QB (Big Ben) back after a 2019 injury and not only have a good OL but probably one of the best defenses in the AFC.

An important fact to remember though is that that Joe Burrow has as many playoff victories as Lamar Jackson (0-2) and Baker Mayfield (0-0) combined. A big fat zero. Ok let’s throw some shade and say, they also have as many playoff wins as Andy Dalton. Ben Roethlisberger has not won a playoff game since January 15, 2016. My simple math says that was 3.5 years ago.

People want to say that Cincinnati has a long way to go and the other AFC North teams are so much better than the Bengals right now. When is the last time that the Browns made the playoffs? Heck they haven’t won the AFC North since 1989 (the longest drought in the NFL). The Ravens got figured out last season by the Titans and Derrick Henry ran all over them. They only scored 3 points in that game. Roethlisberger cannot stay healthy and a lot are wondering how much he has left in the tank. P.S.: his backups stink.

A long way? Lamar, Baker, Ben……none of them have a playoff win in the past 3.5 years. So why not Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow will certainly have a playoff win before Baker Mayfield. The odds are in Jackson’s favor and Ben is a wild card. Our Tiger King is going to be ready and dismissing him completely from lifting this team to a playoff victory in the next two years would be foolish. The future is bright!
