And with the first overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals select….

Of course this is the selection.  In my mind I even flirted with the idea to trade it away for a war chest of picks and let Dalton play out his contract.  When do you get the #1 overall pick though, and a clear cut QB as it’s reward?  Not since Carson Palmer have we had this obvious of a first round draft pick.  Burrow has risen to the top all season and what he did to Oklahoma should have been a crime.  Early in the season we had heard rumblings of the Bengal front office having interest in Herbert from Oregon or even “tanking for Tua” until yet another injury.  Herbert had a good, not great, season but will be taken in the mid-to-late first round.

The other argument is Chase Young from OSU and he is indeed a game-changer but between Dunlap, Lawson, and Hubbard, the Edge seems to be getting the job done.  QB is the most important position on the field and this is the perfect scenario to get this right.  Will he be Akili Smith or David Klingler?  Will he be a Carson Palmer?  That is what is exciting about the draft and the possibility.  We hope that he is Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Joe Montana all in one.  Tons of talent in this kid and this is what the Bengals need right now.
